Hawaii EV Action Alert!
Support EV Charging Infrastructure
&
Climate Emergency Declaration
HB 803 Is being heard by the Senate Committee on Transportation on Tuesday, March 23, at 3 PM HST. Testimony is due Monday, March 22 by 3 PM.
If passed, the bill would allow for enforcement of HRS 291-71 and expand EV charging infrastructure across Hawaii. Notably, it would…
expand the requirement for the number of stations per 100 spaces,
set the standards for the stations,
ensure that the stations are maintained, and
allow for enforcement of EV parking violations.
Please take a few minutes to submit testimony in support of this bill. A simple "I support this bill." will suffice. Here's the link to the HB 803 status and testimony page.

Extra Credit - Please support HR55 / HCR 67 (DECLARING A CLIMATE EMERGENCY AND REQUESTING STATEWIDE COLLABORATION TOWARD AN IMMEDIATE JUST TRANSITION AND EMERGENCY MOBILIZATION EFFORT TO RESTORE A SAFE CLIMATE). Testimony is due on Monday, 22MAR, by 10 AM HST.
These resolutions acknowledge the climate emergency and declare a commitment for a coordinated state-wide effort to accelerate steps to mitigate our emissions and increase our resilience. It also calls out 4 specific strategies (including projects that support EV infrastructure) that may eventually form the basis of meaningful bills in the next session.
You can submit testimony for one or both.
