Help Us Kick Gas!
Help Us Accelerate EV Adoption
Ground transportation in Hawaii consumes about 30% of its oil imports and contributes significantly to greenhouse gas emissions. Electric vehicles offer us the opportunity to reduce or even eliminate this oil dependency. When coupled with Hawaii’s goal to transition its electrical grid to 100% renewable energy by 2045, we have the opportunity to achieve a truly clean energy future. This is good for the consumer, and our planet.
Electric vehicles represent only about 1% of the roughly million passenger vehicles in Hawaii - we have a long way to go. You can help accelerate our transition. In addition to switching to electric, you can take extra steps to encourage others to also ‘kick gas’.
Share Your Experience
Tell Your Story
You can also share stories on our website and social media.
If you have a cool electric car experience that you’d like to share on this website, please contact us. We can use your testimonials, EV tips & tricks, pictures of your favorite EV, a video of your EV drive, anything that will help others appreciate clean transportation.
Volunteer
There are many opportunities to volunteer your time and expertise. You can provide support at our national events – Drive Electric Earth Day and National Drive Electric Week. The activities include things like greeting and educating the public, conducting ‘ride-alongs’, and event venue preparation. These events are island-based and are hosted by local clubs.
You can also volunteer with a local EV club. Visit our Hawaii EV Chapters page for information on a club near you.
Donate
We’re an all-volunteer group and rely on donations to enable our mission. We spend our funds on educational material, website management, and advertising. Your tax-deductible donation will help us sustain our efforts. If you would like to designate your donation to one of our chapters, you will be able to do so on the donation form.
