Hawaii EV Legislative Priorities

Hawaii EV supports policies that enable our transition to a more sustainable transportation future. These include policies that expand public EV charging infrastructure, incentivize ownership, and improve our transportation system's efficiency. The following policy areas are actively being discussed with key legislators.

  • EV Purchase Rebate for LMI Households

  • EV-charger-ready infrastructure rebate in new affordable housing projects (last session’s HB1829)

  • Removal of aggregation allowance (last session’s HB2012)

  • Electric school bus fleets and pilot for public school microgrid and disaster shelters

  • EV battery recycling

  • Electric mobility rebates (last session’s SB3021)
