Hawaii EV Action Alert!

Support Funding for Charging Stations

HB 1142 HD2 SD1 Is being heard by the Ways and Means Committee on Tuesday, April 1, at 930 AM HST.

Testimony is due Wednesday, March 31, by 930 AM.

Here’s the bill’s description “Allocates three cents of the barrel tax to fund the installation of electric vehicle charging systems. Establishes an electric vehicle charging system subaccount within the public utilities commission special fund. Sunsets 6/30/2030.”

If passed, the bill would allow for the funding of the commercial electric car charging station rebate. This rebate is now depleted, and there is a waiting list for site owners interested in installing a charging station.

Please take a few minutes to submit testimony in support of this bill. A simple "I support this bill." will suffice. Here's the link to the HB 1142 HD2 SD1 status and testimony page.
