Hawaii EV successfully celebrated National Drive Electric Week with meet-ups across Hawaii!
The events, a collaboration with local chapters, Drive Electric Hawaii, our utilities (Hawaiian Electric and Kauai Island Utility Cooperative), and other partners, promoted the importance of sustainable transportation, particularly electric vehicles, in accelerating our transition to a clean, sustainable future.

Our events are part of National Drive Electric Week, an annual celebration presented by Plug In America, the Electric Vehicle Association, the Sierra Club, EVHybridNoire, and Drive Electric USA.
EV Adoption in Hawaii - We’re close to 34,000!
As of September 2024, there were 33,966 registered EVs in Hawaii (+22.8% over September 2023). This now represents 3.1% of the 1,082,054 registered passenger vehicles in the state.
Adoption is accelerating across the state, with very positive YoY growth. This is very positive, but more must be done to accelerate adoption. Hawaii consumes nearly 40,000,000 gallons of gasoline and diesel each month, and gas vehicles still represent about 93.3% of registered vehicles.
