Cody is an enthusiastic EV advocate and experienced Chevy Bolt owner on the east side of the Big Island. He’s lived in just about every “EV hot spot” in the nation—first Colorado, then Georgia, briefly California, then Oregon, and now Hawaii. Cody is our go-to for the latest EV information.

Julieta is passionate EV advocate. She’s joined many of our events and has been instrumental in helping others appreciate EVs. She drives a Hyundai Ioniq 5 and is very impressed by the vehicle and its technology. Julieta is based in Waimea.

Gary and his wife, Paula, live in Ninole, a few miles north of Hilo. Gary is an avid EV owner - he’s owned a Chevy Bolt, Tesla Model 3, Tesla Cybertruck, his latest EV. Gary is a professional photographer – he sells his stock photos online. He has covered many of our events and is eager to talk about EVs with others.

Jared is a life-long Kohala resident and a Chevy Bolt owner.. He is constantly testing its range and capabilities – ask him about his adventures, Jared is a strong promoter of electric vehicles and has been active in educating the public about the benefits of EVs.

Lorn and his wife are an example of sustainable living and “walking the talk”. They are on their 4th EV with a brand new Kia EV6. Lorn is happy to talk story about EVs and has helped many transition to electric cars. He ilves in Puna.

Mike is an active ambassador in Kona. He is the Hawaii Island Tesla Hawaii Club Director and a Tesla Model Y owner. Mike is a key organizer of meet-ups in West Hawaii.

Noel Morin has driven an electric car since 2011. He is based in Hilo and is a lead organizer for local events. He drives a 2013 Tesla Model S. He occasionally gets behind the wheel of a 2011 Tesla Roadster. Noel powers his Hilo home and his family’s electric cars with solar energy.

Rick has been in the renewable energy field for many years and is the owner of a Nissan LEAF and Chevy Volt. He has worked closely with 3 EV charger companies to locate and maintain their charging stations. Rick works daily to help people in Hawaii reduce their energy use and eliminate their electric bill. Rick lives in Waikoloa.

Ruth Robison lives with her husband in Hilo. She bought a 2020 Kia Niro EV in 2022 and had a basic level 2 charger installed in the carport. She loves her EV and loves never having to use gasoline again. 

Stephanie is a long-time EV owner in Hilo. She is an active advocate and can be seen at many of our local tabling events where she shares her experience with would-be EV owners. She drives a Tesla Model X.

Tam is a renewable energy lawyer and policy expert, working mainly in California since 2001 at Community Renewable Solutions. He has driven a Chevy Bolt and Tesla Model Y. His current EV is a Tesla Model 3. Tam lives in Puna.

Tom is retired and residing in Ocean View. He has been driving EVs for a long while. His latest EV is a Tesla Model Y. Tom harvests solar energy for his home and cars. He offers insights into ownership in a part of the island that is currently not very well supported by charging infrastructure.
