Hawaii EV Policy Priorities

Our voices matter! We make critical change happen by supporting bills that help us meet our electrification of transportation goals.

Hawaii EV Legislative Priorities

Hawaii EV supports policies that enable our transition to a more sustainable transportation future. These include policies that expand public EV charging infrastructure, incentivize ownership, and improve our transportation system's efficiency. The following policy areas are actively being discussed with key legislators.

Our 2025 policy priorities

  • Expansion of EV Charging Infrastructure

  • EV Purchase Rebates

  • Electric School Bus Fleets

  • EV Battery Upcycling and Recycling

You can help!

A simple way to encourage support of bills that support our goals is to submit testimony on bills being heard by the legislature. Similarly, writing to our local representatives to encourage support of the bills can help. We ask that you take the time to share your support.

Let us know if you’d like to subscribe to our Action Alerts. As we hear about bills that require our support, we will send out emails to call attention to bills that require testimony.

Wondering what to include in your testimony?

Hawaii EV has compiled a growing list of tips and Talking Points to help you create meaningful testimony.

How to Submit Testimony

To submit testimony to the Hawaii Legislature, you'll need to have an account (you'll need to log in before you can submit testimony). To create an account, go to the Hawaii State Legislature Registration Page and click the 'Register' link in the upper right corner.
