Drive Electric Earth Day Hawaii 2021

Hawaii EV recently hosted several events to celebrate Drive Electric Earth Day. These included presentations at local schools, a talk show visit, a webinar, and a meet-up. Mahalo to all who made this celebration of Earth Month and the electric car possible.

Electric Car Display at Hilo Intermediate School  (Hawaii Island)

Several Big Island EV Association members shared their EVs to help Hilo Intermediate High celebrate Earth Day on April 22. Teacher Kristy Kamoku invited us to help her school celebrate. Her students participated in Blue Planet Foundation’s Student Energy Summit late last year, where they won the “Best Climate Solution” project prize. We parked our cars in front of the school during lunch hour, and the owners addressed the questions posed by students, staff, and parents.

Electric Car Display and EV 101 at Hawaii Technology Academy (Kauai)

Sonja Kass and other Kauai EV members brought 4 electric cars to this local school on April 28. She shared information about EVs and even conducted a test as a means to educate students.

Hawaii EV on Think Tech Hawaii (Hawaii Energy show)

On April 28, Noel Morin and Bill Bugbee (Director, Hawaii EV) joined show host Mitch Ewan to share information about the organization, the benefits of EVs, general information about EVs, and how to participate in the electrification of transportation.

Big Island EV Caravan and Meet-up

On May 1, BIEVA held its first meet-up in over a year. Several members converged in Waimea to exchange stories and check out the latest EVs.
