EVs as a Service - Envoy Hawaii

Envoy’s Mobility as an Amenity is now delivering a unique, clean transportation service for residents of an apartment complex in Honolulu. Residents of Halekauwila Place Apartments have access to a new Nissan LEAF that can be booked through the Envoy Mobility app. They have the flexibility to use this EV for their daily errands in hourly increments. This promises to provide apartment residents with access to affordable and efficient transportation without the cost and maintenance burden of a personal car.

As we’ve mentioned previously, reducing Vehicle Miles Traveled (VMT) is an important strategy in our journey to a clean energy future. Driving electric helps, but we can do more by increasing transportation efficiency. Mass transit, shared mobility, micro-mobility, and other methods to get around without a personal car are ways to reduce VMT. Envoy’s service enables VMT reduction - it allows a shared vehicle to be efficiently used by a group of individuals through orchestration software (the Envoy Mobility app).

We applaud Envoy for their efforts in this space and look forward to seeing this service make traction across our market - apartments, condos, hotels, businesses, and government.
