Good news! SB2720, which expands the Hawaii Energy EV Charging Station Rebate Program to include single-port (single-plug) chargers, has been signed into law.

Summary of the changes:

  • Allows for a rebate amount of $2000 for installing a new single-port, Level 2 station, and $1300 for upgrading a single port, Level 2 station.

  • Removes the annual $500,000 rebate program cap.

  • Appropriates $1,000,000 for the EV Charging Station Rebate program for the fiscal year 2022-2023.
