Please join Hawaii EV for a volunteer workday in Maunalua Bay!
We will help restore the marine environment by removing invasive algae from the nearshore waters, as part of an effort to continue the work of the Great Huki.
From 2009-2011, a team of dedicated volunteers and staff removed 3 million pounds of invasive limu from 27 acres. This effort continues today through volunteer workdays with schools and community groups.
The event will take place at Kuliʻouʻou Beach Park and run from 9AM - Noon and will involves a short 15 minute walk to the shoreline where the algae removal will take place. Volunteers will be provided water shoes, gloves, and bags for the algae removal.
Please RSVP by March 31st at oahuhawaiieva@gmail.com to let us know you're attending and we'll send you a waiver to sign and additional details.
