NDEW 2025 with Kauai EV

We had a successful event at the Kukui Grove Center in Lihue. Our ambassadors and local EV owners, along with Kauai County, brought EVs to the event, which drew the interest of the general public. We also observed good foot traffic from the shopping center, thanks to the vehicle display's prominent placement. We had a good mix of vehicles, e.g., Kia EV 6, Tesla Model Y, Tesla Model 3, Tesla Cybertruck, and Subaru Solterra.

Hawaii EV Board member Michael Albatrozov demonstrated Tesla's Summon feature, which attracted public interest and a local reporter. The event was subsequently featured on the front page of the local paper.

Christina Kaser, a representative from the County of Kauai's Economic Development Department, read the Mayor's Drive Electric Month proclamation at this event. She also brought along a County electric vehicle.

Allison Y. from Kauai Island Utility Cooperative was also on hand to field questions regarding EV charger rebates offered by the utility.

Mahalo to the Kukui Grove Center for enabling this event, to Mayor Kawakami for acknowledging National Drive Electric Month, to Christinal Kaser for representing the County, KIUC for its support of our EoT efforts, and to our national sponsors for making this annual event possible.

Kudos to Kauai’s EV Ambassadors - Michael Albatrosov, Steve Parsons, Liz Hahn, and Ruta Jordans - for orchestrating this event. They are tireless advocates for the electrification of transportation on Kauai.

This event was part of National Drive Electric Week, an annual celebration presented by Plug In America, the Electric Vehicle Association, the Sierra Club, EVHybridNoire, and Drive Electric USA.
