Public and private organizations in Hawaii can use funds to offset the cost of replacing their buses and medium-heavy duty diesel trucks. There are $2,100,000 in rebates available that will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

The Hawaii State Energy Office, in partnership with the Hawaii Department of Health, has created the Diesel Replacement Rebate Program, which offers a 45% rebate to cover the cost to replace medium and heavy-duty vehicles with an electric equivalent. The rebate will also apply to the required vehicle charger.

Applications will be accepted beginning October 29th at 9 AM HST at https://energy.hawaii.gov/DRR

Want to learn more? There will be an informational webinar on October 21st at 9 AM HST. Interested participants can join a mailing list at https://energy.hawaii.gov/vw-settlement-mailing-list to receive information about the program and webinar.

Let’s get the word out so that we can cut down on diesel vehicles and the toxic exhaust that come with them.
