Hawaii EV Talk Story July 2021

This is a recording of Hawaii EV's July 31 'Talk Story,’ a session dedicated to Electric Vehicles As A Service. We featured Andy Huang of Envoy and Benson Medina of Sustainability Partners.

Andy presented the Amenity as a Service model that his company offers to facilities like hotels, workplaces, and condos. With this car-sharing model, a facility is provided with electric vehicles that their clients can use exclusively on a per minute or hourly basis. Envoy provides and maintains the cars. It also provides an application is used to reserve the vehicles and manage their use.

Benson shared the Infrastructure as a Service business model that Sustainability Partners (SP) employs. SP facilitates major infrastructure projects to municipalities, hospitals, school systems, and other large entities. It identifies and secures the projects, delivers the investments to fund them, and manages the deployment of the projects. Unlike traditional infrastructure programs, SP provides service vs. the actual assets. For instance, as part of their 10-year Electrification of Transportation contract with the State of Hawaii, they deliver EVs and charging infrastructure while the State pays only for the use of the vehicles.

Learn more about how these strategies will help Hawaii accelerate its transition to zero-emission vehicles in this recorded session.
